There are secrets that your consultant knows that they’re not telling you. Sometimes it’s because they think you don’t want to know, and sometimes it’s because they don’t want you to be able to do it yourself. I think that’s wrong. Here are some insider secrets your influencer marketing agency doesn’t want you to know!

Social media runs on algorithms. Duh, everyone has heard that. What you probably didn’t know is that they work solely to keep users on the site for as long as possible.
In other words, the algorithm is already working in your favor. Your results can be improved by the keywords you use, the visual elements of your posts, and the hashtags or search tags.
That’s the first secret to influencer campaigns. You can optimize your social media strategy for these results too!
I’ve had my content shared by another influencer. Multiple times. The secret? Relationships.
At the center of influence and authority is relationships! People trust the influencer you want to work with because they’ve built a relationship with their audience.
Here’s a quick video on how to build an online community if you need it.
Get more views
This is one of the stupidest secrets guarded by the entire social media, influencer, and PR industries. Why is it hidden? No idea. I think it’s stupid to hide.
Remember the algorithm? What if someone watched your video 10 times without knowing it? Enter: the 3-second video.
Think like the algo. If people are watching this content over and over… they must be spending more time on the platform. Therefore, I should push this to more people.
This whole bit can be replicated with 6-, 7-second, and longer videos too! Just make sure you have a way to keep them watching again and again.
Get more likes
Have you ever seen those “like for X, laugh for Y, care for Z” posts on Facebook? You can adapt the format for your brand’s topic pillars and keep pushing!
Another option is to run a low-cost ad campaign in specific countries where engagement campaigns are inexpensive. But only if you know exactly how to run a pay-per-click ad campaign.
Get more shares
Admittedly, shares are far more difficult to gain. The simplest way I have had work was to create an “open” guide (no email needed) and ask people to share the post with a friend who could use it.
While asking for shares point blank may (jury’s still out) affect your post reach. You can still ask for shares without “share this with a friend” in a more subtle manner. (Like “Would your followers find this guide useful?”)

I said finding them is easy. I didn’t say anything about getting them to work with you. Regardless, there is a lot of great software that will help you find influencers. Grin, Upfluence, Buzzsumo, and #paid are all great tools that offer a free (limited) version.
As I mentioned, the problem lies in getting them to work with you. In order of difficulty (most to least), here are the hardest influencer deals to close:
Influencer marketing is all the rage right now, but it can be hard to know what you’re getting when you hire an agency. It’s important to know that the most impactful performance indicators can be done yourself! The only consideration you need to ask yourself is: Do I have the time to dedicate to another brand campaign?
Do you use influencers in your marketing campaigns? Will you? Let me know in the comments! Thanks for reading!
